These are descendants of William & John Robley, of Scarrowmanwick, Cumbria. They emigrated to Pictou, Nova Scotia in 1822. We think that they were accompanied by their brother, Thomas, and that he settled in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A Thomas Robley, from Halifax, married Catherine Manning on 25 April, 1829, at Christ Church, Dartmouth. Thomas appears on the 1838 census for Halifax with a wife and six children, but we have been unable, so far, to trace any present-day descendants of Thomas & Catherine.
